The Mammoth Story //

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

MMTH is the vision of serial entrepreneur, Jake Farrant. Alongside his brother—Bryce—Jake planted the roots of MMTH as a commercial mowing business with a John Deere 318 tractor and a single weed eater. The company (then known as Kansas Turf) made a name for itself by never saying no to work. No matter how undesirable or complicated the job was, the Farrant brothers found a way to give the client a great experience.

Jake and Bryce never shied away from a challenge or a big opportunity. Their reputation for customer experience allowed Kansas Turf to move successfully into cemetery renovation projects. The work on federal cemeteries required intensely scrutinized levels of quality and respect for the work being completed. Their attention to detail and tireless work ethic made them nationally regarded in the industry.

The reputation for quality and service led to a call from Kansas State University athletics that forever changed the company. Work in cemeteries translated into laying synthetic turf for athletic fields, and Kansas Turf was awarded a project to replace the turf at K-State’s famed Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Shortly after, Kansas Turf took on the name Mammoth Sports Construction(now MMTH), a name that evoked the aspirations to perform big on the behalf of clients.

Today, MMTH is the largest installer of athletic turf in the United States. MMTH has expanded its offerings to help improve the lives of the athletes and administrators it serves. In addition to world-class sports construction, the organization provides sports consulting, architecture, engineering, and creative services to help build high-performance athletic programs and facilities.
