The Kansas City Royals Foundation’s biggest fundraising event of the season is held in the summer each year. For the 2023 event, the theme was Welcome to the City. MMTH was charged with providing premier seating areas for guests on the field.
The challenge was to develop, fabricate, install and tear down these within 24 hours, while also hitting their budget. The cross-functional MMTH team joined forces between construction, creative, design and more. Through trial and error, the team was able to build the cabanas ahead of time and construct them on the field in only 15 minutes each. The entire project was built within 6 hours.
The theme was carried through with each cabana being an iconic neighborhood in Kansas City, complete with street signs and imagery depicting the elements in that neighborhood.
